The Predator

Rolling Force“The sorcerers of ancient Mexico saw the predator. They called it the flyer because it leaps through the air. It is not a pretty sight. It is a big shadow, impenetrably dark, a black shadow that jumps through the air. Then, it lands flat on the ground. The sorcerers of ancient Mexico reasoned that man must have been a complete being at one point, with stupendous insights, feats of awareness that are mythological legends nowadays. And then everything seems to disappear, and we have now a sedated man.” – don Juan, The Active Side of Infinity

Carlos and don Juan discuss a predator that exists in the depths of the cosmos and rules the lives of humans, holding them as their prisoners.  Though the word predator would not necessarily be my word of choice to describe this particular energy, we’ll use it for the time being to remain consistent with the label keeping in mind that it energetically infuses humans with the foreign installation.

This predator not only feeds off of human awareness; it also manipulates humans.  Don Juan said that there are a lot of outside forces controlling people in every moment and that this control is something that exists outside of the domain of language because these experiences lie so far beyond syntax.

Don Juan goes on to further explain that we are food for this energetic awareness and that in the same way that we raise chickens in chicken coops for food, the predators rear us in human coops, our coop being the planet earth.   The predator is an energy that flows in the universe and is visible to seers who have enough energy to perceive them.  They appear as fleeting shadows and have also been referred to, by Carlos in The Active Side of Infinity as Flyers.

Carlos became infuriated by don Juan’s claim which is, of course, the rational reaction to such a claim.  Most people cannot begin to wrap their minds around that fact that we are not alone in this universe.  To attempt to understand that there are energies of awareness is a huge leap for most people.  Even “god” is depicted as a human being with man being created in his image.  The foreign installation runs extremely deep with that one.

Don Juan, appealing to Carlos’ analytical mind, points out the contradiction of “man the engineer” and the stupidity of his systems of belief and contradictory behaviors.  He goes on to say that sorcerers believe that the predator has given humanity their systems of beliefs, ideas of good and evil and that they are the ones who set up our hopes and expectations and dreams of success or failure.  All of this and more is the foreign installation and the mindset was given to us by the predators.   As a result, man is living with an incredibly false mindset that they are unworthy and need to be saved.  The predators inject into the lives of human beings whatever is convenient for them to ensure a degree of security that acts as a buffer against their own fears of not having enough.

Yeah, I know, this stuff is difficult to wrap one’s mind around.  As human beings we are discouraged from entertaining the idea of the paranormal or mystical.  We are encouraged and conditioned to regard things like UFO’s, aliens, spirit possession, orbs, telepathy, clairvoyance and the like as hoaxes, old wives tales and myths.  If these are indeed myths then why are so many people experiencing them?  Some would say that the people who have these experiences are delusional but my belief is that those who don’t believe in them are delusional and in denial.  Also, the foreign installation is prevalent and very difficult to become free of.

Like the Toltec sorcerer’s of ancient times, Shaman were very aware and perceptive to these ulterior entities and took necessary precautions and created ceremonies to ensure that tribes and communities were safeguarded from them.  Even modern day priests have specific rituals that are used to this day to perform exorcisms and ward off external entities that attempt to inhabit a body.  What is a “spirit possession” anyway?  It’s basically an inorganic being or predator feeding off of someone.  Clinically insane people are labeled as such because much of their behavior violates what are considered social norms.  These crazy, instable and mad people are able to see the inorganic beings clearly enough to have conversations with them.  Have they defied the predator to the point that they see it, talk to it and stand up to it or are they the ideal victims being preyed upon relentlessly as some twisted type of cat and mouse game?

Social norms are twisted to me.  What is a social norm?  Social norms are the rules that deem what is appropriate behavior.  Adherance to these “rules” essentially gives you the right to conduct yourself in a deceitful and dishonest manner in order to ensure that you are upholding the expectations required to fit in to societal norms.  And where did social norms come from?  They are the foreign installation.  What’s wrong with authenticity, honesty and integrity!?  Perhaps, I too, am going mad.  One could only hope.

Down in the depths of every human being, there’s an ancestral, visceral knowledge about the predators’ existence.” – Carlos Castaneda

    Hi,

I enjoyed your brief article on predators (‘Flyers’), and if memory serves me correctly, don Juan indicated that they are even more invasive in the day to day lives of all human beings, not just the possessed. It was my understanding the ‘Flyers’ fed off of emotions, and that they came about when the sorcerers of old made a ‘pact’ with inorganic beings. This supposedly took place a very long time ago, possibly even during the Atlantean period (or earlier), although I don’t think don Juan every referred to a specific time frame other than ‘long ago’.

My spiritual quest re-started with a search for answers and focused on Shamanism initially, but I was guided to the Toltec teachings, and at that point I felt like I had come home again. Although I have read all of CC books twice, there has been a good deal of additional spiritual information to flow to me since that time. If you have ever read The Emerald Tablets of Thoth the Atlantean, he too mentions sorcerers bridging the ‘cycles below’ in order to gain knowledge, and these descriptions are so similar, I feel they may be one in the same.

I am glad I came across your site.

  • Yes, the predators feed off of anyone, that is, anyone who is available to them. Impeccable warriors, however, are efficient with their energy, therefore do not feed the predator.

Many people have said that the Castaneda and Toltec teachings have made them feel that they’ve come home again. It is the return to the authentic self.

    Thanks for writing.

Dear Female Warrior , Nice Cite
Not everyone can become a sorcerer.
Without a benefactor,it is not possible.
In the tradition of Don Juan, did Carlos make it?
Or was he required to fuel the flight for that nagual line!?

Another perspective on fliers came from my wife. She is a very spiritual person and is currently in ‘healing’ training from a Peruvian shaman based lineage. She has been traveling the spiritual path for many, many years. I too have been on the spiritual path for quite some time, but I was raised a Christian, though I never ‘bought into’ the concept of Jesus saving my soul. In my perspective, Jesus existed to lead by example, and he practiced unconditional love for all to see. Even his death was an example to us in that we must shed our illusion and be re-born into Spirit.

One evening, we were discussing the fliers, their voices in our minds, and their need to feed off of human emotions. I had come to understand their presence and influence on my life, and had been focusing on being ‘impeccable’ by not feeding the fliers. As I was explaining this approach to her, she replied that these entities are simply trying to live, no different from us feeding on plants and animals. She said, “If they are hungry for emotions, then feed them love”. Her suggestion shook me and there was an immediate shift in my assemblage point. Although I had known the term ‘unconditional love’, it was information, not knowledge. It was at this point that I began to relate to ‘unconditional love’ and what all this term encompasses.

I am not certain if the fliers indeed enjoy the emotion of love, but they have greatly decreased their persistent jabbering. Awareness of their existence is part of this, but I feel that the love connection is also part of the solution.

  • Beautiful. What your wife said is akin to what the Buddhist meaning for compassion really encompasses. The English words for love and compassion have become shallow, overused words whose meanings have become convoluted. Too many people don’t know “love” without expectations or “compassion” without pity. Be eternally grateful to your wife for “stopping your world” which enabled you to connect directly to silent knowledge. If you haven’t already, please read The Love of a Sorcerer from the April archives.

Maintain your impeccability, however. There is no need to feed the fliers at all.

There is an energy necessary for our form to hold together when we manifest here. It is the energy of self identity. It holds the fibers together in this reality of forms. Some call this the flier.

That energy is accepted into our being at conception to give us our individual perception. Without it, we are in the 3rd attention. We need it to exist as forms. In its normal function, it is the survival instinct. The resulting human problems come from our cultural traits of excessive self attention. Thus, there are traditions to help one recapture (recapitulate) the original matrix and actually be useful in this reality. Once the flier is under control, one has the opportunity to access all the positions of the AP….. and even beyond.
